Privacy Policy

The short version: Your photos are converted entirely inside your browser and are never uploaded to us or anyone else. We don’t have your images and we can’t see them.

1. Who we are (data controller)

SnapHEIC is operated by Daniel, an independent developer based in Spain. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact [email protected].

2. Your photos are never uploaded

The conversion of HEIC files to JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF happens locally in your web browser using WebAssembly. Your image files are processed in your device’s memory and are not transmitted to our servers or any third party. We do not receive, store, or have any access to the photos you convert.

3. What data we do process

Cookieless analytics (always on): we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and understand which pages are useful. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint you, and does not collect personal data.
Google Analytics (only if you accept): to understand how the tools are used we also offer optional Google Analytics measurement. It sets cookies, so it stays completely off until you click “Allow” in our consent banner. If you decline (or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honor automatically as a “no”), Google Analytics never loads and no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time via “Manage cookies” in the footer.
Hosting logs: our host (Cloudflare) processes standard technical data such as IP address for security and to deliver the site, as described in Cloudflare’s own privacy documentation.
Advertising (future): if and when we display ads, third-party ad partners (e.g. Google AdSense) may use cookies or similar technologies. Where required (EEA/UK), ads will only load after you consent through our consent banner, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Non-essential cookies are not set before consent.

4. Legal bases (GDPR)

Cookieless analytics and secure hosting rely on our legitimate interest in operating and improving the site. Google Analytics and any future advertising cookies rely solely on your consent. We do not sell personal data.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Contact [email protected] to exercise them. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD, aepd.es).

6. Cookies

The site uses no advertising or tracking cookies by default. If advertising is enabled in the future, a consent banner will let you accept or reject non-essential cookies with equal ease, and a “Manage cookies” option will let you change your choice at any time.

7. Children

SnapHEIC is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 14. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
